President of Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev visited Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant.

On the 24th of August 2009 the President of the Russian Federation Dmitriy Medvedev visited Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant in the context of the official visit to the Republic of Buryatia. The Head of state was accompanied by Andrey Reus - Director General of "OPK Oboronprom" JSC, Andrey Shibitov - Director General of "Russian Helicopters" JSC, which incorporates UUAP, and the President of the Republic of Buryatia - Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn.

Noteworthy that Dmitriy Medvedev arrived aboard the helicopter manufactured by UUAP. The President announced that reliability of aircrafts manufactured by UUAP is the major factor, which attracts foreign customers.

According to the program of the visit Leonid Belykh - managing director - briefed the President on the production abilities and general situation on the plant. Production facilities were shown to the President as well as product line: Mi-8 and Mi-171 helicopters in different versions and Su-25UBM close-support aircraft.

Besides, there was a meeting with plant employees where they involved questions on economical situation at the enterprise and in the country generally. Moreover, the Head of the state promised that stock of orders will be formed by means of government orders too. In addition, president answered questions of representatives of plant trade union and committee of youth.

The president noted that his visit to the plant was fruitful. Notwithstanding that he underlined necessity to renew lineup of Russian helicopters, the president pointed out high level of production potential of the plant and quality of the aircrafts being produced.
