JSC "Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant" (UUAP) within the frame of exposition of helicopter holding company "Russian Helicopters" took part in one of the major international exhibitions of helicopter industry - Heli-Expo 2010, which took place from 21 till 23 February in Houston, USA. For the plant and for the whole "Russian Helicopters" holding participation in Heli-Expo became a debut. "Russian Helicopters" holding, which includes UUAP, counts on strengthening of its position on the North American market and in the countries of Latin America. On Heli-Expo, enterprises of the Holding company showed their opportunities to delivery modern helicopters and their global service maintenance.
Today UUAP produces the most popular Russian Mi-171 helicopter, various modifications of which attracts traditional interest of operators in countries of the region - Mexico, Columbia, Brazil, Ecuador, Peru, Nicaragua. Besides, Mi-171 helicopters of Russian aviation companies carry out helicopter works there, including UN missions. For example, helicopters of UUAP production participated in recovery of the recent damaging earthquake on Haiti.
There can be installed a complex of modern systems as optional equipment on Mi-171 helicopters manufactured by UUAP for carrying out flights in the North American region and in the countries of Latin America. First of all, this is flight and navigation and radio communication equipment - VOR/ILS, GPS, weather radar, DME, transponder, marker receiver, feet-graduated altimeter, power line detector, TCAS, TAWS, radio sets and emergency locator transmitters. Modern search-and-rescue and firefighting equipment like rescue hoist and search light, water dropping system and public address system can be installed on Mi-171 helicopters as well.
Exposition of "Russian Helicopters" holding company provided American experts and wide audience with the complete lineup of helicopters produced in Russia, including Mi-171 helicopters of UUAP production. "Russian hour" especially arranged along with Association of helicopter industry told about strategy of the Holding company on world market, including program of complete upgrade of the popular Mi-171 helicopter.
