Su-39 attack aircraft

Su-39 aircraft is the result of the deep modernization of Su-25, the most famous Russian attack aircraft, also known as “Grach” and “Frog Foot”. Employment of military aviation in Afghanistan, Chechnya, Iran-Iraq conflict and other combat actions, proved Su-25 attack aircraft to be the most effectively used airplane, carrying out more combat missions, compared to other airplanes. Development of Su-39 is aimed to take the efficiency of this attack aircraft’s employment to the absolutely new level, and to considerably expand the range of its combat tasks.

High combat survivability, excellent maneuverability, simple controllability, powerful armament, simplicity of operation, ability to eliminate targets in hard-to-reach locations – these are the characteristics that Su-39 inherited from its predecessor. Besides, Su-39 has obtained new qualities such as round-the-clock ad all-weather employment, availability of an improved aiming and navigation system, higher precision of the more powerful employment, high level of automation during combat missions, improved performance and technical characteristics, reduced maintenance cost.

Types of eliminated targets
