Conference of Operators

One of the main tasks for us is establishing a feed-back with the Operators of our aircraft. It is very important to us to know what our aircraft is like in operation, what matters emerge during its operation, what kinds of additional options could be implemented on the aircraft in the judgment of Operator. On the basis of this information Ulan-Ude Aviation Plant together with the aircraft designers makes the helicopter and airplane upgrade program, and improves the service system.

One of the most important measures in developing a feed-back with the Operators, is the International Conference of Mi-8/Mi-171 helicopter Operator.

This Conference has been held by our factory on the regular basis, and has already become traditional. The Conference is attended by the representatives of our Mi-8/Mi-171 helicopter Operators from all parts of the globe, the designers of helicopters, helicopter systems and equipment, state aviation and transport supervision authorities, officials from different countries, our business partners and just friends.

During the Conference the participants discuss the issues of Mi-8/Mi-171 helicopter operation and maintenance, the most perspective directions of the helicopter upgrade, the matters of the helicopter servicing, training of the flight personnel and technical staff, etc. On the basis of the discussion results, the factory works out specific measures to solve these matters.

During the Conference the participants can get familiarized with the enterprise, its production and technological capabilities, organization of the servicing system and training, as well as with the factory’s products. For this purpose an excursion around the factory is arranged, covering the major production shops, flight test station, and the training center.

The Conference program includes the demonstration flights of Mi-171 and Mi-171Sh helicopters, as well as Su-25UB and Su-39 assault aircraft. During the demonstration flights the Conference participants can witness a spectacular show with aerial stunts, imitation of combat operation with troop insertion and elimination of the hostile defense point, imitation of search-and-rescue and fire-fighting operations.

The Conference comes to the end at the Lake Baikal, where the participants proceed discussing their points of interest in an informal environment.

Year after year the International Conference of Mi-8/Mi-171 helicopter Operators is becoming more and more popular. The conference is attended by more than 120 people, representing more than 20 countries.
